The 2010 Summer Youth Track Series will be our 6th annual.
Meets are on Monday nights beginning at 6:00pm, with the last event ending around 8:15pm. Registration is from 5:30 to 6:00.
The 2009 series was more popular than ever, with almost 900 different youth participating at some point in the 5-week series. Breakdown by town as follows:

This is a free, five-week series held on five consecutive Mondays nights, starting on the first Monday after the 4th of July. The dates of the 2010 series are as follows:

The Narragansett Running Association (NRA) is a running club based in Narragansett, RI. Our purpose is to support the running community and charitable causes by organizing, volunteering, and participating in running related and social events in the South County Area.

What is the Narragansett Summer Youth Track Series?

When are the meets?
Meets are on Monday nights beginning at 6:00pm, with the last event ending around 8:15pm.
Registration is from 5:30 to 6:00.

Narragansett High School Track
245 South Pier Rd.
Narragansett, RI
Who can compete?
Any boy or girl aged 13 and under.
Is there a minimum age?
No. If your toddler can walk, they can participate. We regularly have 1 and 2 year olds doing the 50 meter dash and the ball toss (accompanied by their parents).
What are the events?
50 meter dash (ages 6 and under only)

What is the cost?
Free to all participants. The meets are funded by the generous donations of area businesses and individual sponsors, as well as the proceeds from the Narragansett Running Associations' Super 5K road race.
Are meets ever cancelled because of weather?
Meets will be canceled due to heavy rain or thunderstorms. There are no rain dates. Unless they are last minute, cancellations will be posted on this page.
How are kids grouped for the events?
Kids are grouped by age. Children 6 and under follow a different schedule then those aged 7-13, and in the running heats they run with kids of the same age. Boys and girls sometimes run together, depending on the number of participants.
Are there refreshments?
Yes. Water, lemonade, and watermelon is available for the kids.
Is the emphasis on competition or recreation?
The emphasis of the meets is to promote self-confidence, sportsmanship, and fun. No special prizes are awarded winning races. Instead, every participant gets a ribbon and candy when they leave the meet. Although the emphasis is on recreation, times are recorded and results are listed in the Narragansett Times and on www.coolrunning.com.
